Lease Buyout Rules
Audi Financial Services allows the original lessee to purchase the vehicle at lease-end. Note that unlike some lenders, Audi requires dealer participation for most transactions.
- Dealer Process Required Buyouts generally must be processed through an authorized Audi dealer to handle the Odometer Disclosure Statement and state titling. Direct payoff checks from customers are often rejected without dealer facilitation.
- Third-Party Restrictions: Third-party buyouts (selling to non-Audi dealers) are permitted in some states but are often restricted or subject to "Dealer Payoff" pricing that is higher than your residual.

- Fees: A purchase option fee (typically $350-$500) may apply, along with state taxes and registration fees.
Lease Transfer Policy
⚠ Important: Transfers Suspended
Audi Financial Services (VW Credit) suspended its lease transfer program several years ago. While the information below outlines their standard policy, most accounts are currently ineligible for transfer. Please contact AFS directly to confirm if any exceptions apply to your contract.
Standard Policy (If Permitted)
- Transfer Fee: $350.00 (Paid by buyer).
- Credit App Fee: $100.00.
- Time Restriction: No transfers allowed in the final 12 months of the lease (exceptions may apply for family).
- Liability: The original lessee typically remains liable on the account even after transfer.
Audi Care Maintenance
For drivers exceeding 15,000 miles per year, we strongly recommend purchasing an Audi Care maintenance plan.
- Savings: Prepaid plans can save up to 20% vs. individual service costs.
- Coverage: Scheduled maintenance every 10k miles or 12 months.
- Parts: Guaranteed use of Audi Genuine Parts.
- Pricing: $999 - $1,999 (model dependent).
- Terms: Non-refundable and non-transferable (tied to VIN).
- Convenience: Costs can often be rolled into lease payments.
Lease-End Fees & Wear Protection
