Lease Buyout Rules

  • Buyouts must be processed through an authorized Honda or Acura dealership, not directly with Honda Financial Services. Customers cannot send a check directly to complete the buyout.
  • Since July 1, 2021, third-party buyouts (e.g., by CarMax, Carvana, or non-Honda/Acura dealers) are not permitted. Lessees must buy the vehicle themselves and may sell to a third party after completing the purchase.
  • A signed Odometer Disclosure Statement and Title Release Information form must be submitted via the dealership or faxed to 937-481-5307.
  • Early buyouts are allowed if permitted by the lease contract, but may include remaining lease payments and a purchase option fee (typically up to $500).
  • The disposition fee may be waived if you purchase the vehicle or lease/buy a new Honda or Acura vehicle.
