Lease Buyout Rules
Honda Financial Services allows the original lessee to purchase the vehicle at lease-end.
- No Third-Party Buyouts Since July 1, 2021, third-party buyouts (e.g., by CarMax, Carvana, or non-Honda/Acura dealers) are not permitted. You must buy the vehicle yourself first.
- Dealer Process Required: Buyouts must be processed through an authorized Honda or Acura dealership. Customers cannot send a check directly to complete the buyout.
- Documents: A signed Odometer Disclosure Statement and Title Release Information form must be submitted via the dealership.
Lease Transfer Policy
