Lease Buyout Rules

Nissan Motor Acceptance Company allows the original lessee to purchase the leased vehicle at any time, with specific conditions outlined in the lease agreement.

The purchase option price is specified in the lease agreement. Contact NMAC at 800-777-7018 or use the NMAC Finance Account Manager app to obtain a payoff quote.
Buyouts must be processed through an authorized Nissan dealer, not directly with NMAC. Customers cannot send a check directly to complete the buyout.
Third-party buyouts (e.g., by CarMax, Carvana, or non-Nissan dealers) are not permitted. Lessees must buy the vehicle themselves and may sell to a third party after completing the purchase.
A signed Odometer Disclosure Statement must be submitted via the dealer, as required by federal law.
Early buyouts are allowed after 12 monthly payments, if the lease is not in default and 30 days’ written notice is provided.
The disposition fee may be waived if you lease or purchase a new Nissan or INFINITI vehicle within 120 days prior to or 30 days after lease termination.
